What’s in the Box, 7/2/10

Howdy Folks,

Welcome to the second week of summer (astronomically speaking). We have been really enjoying this weather and hope you have too. Recent news from the farm includes: new tines for the tiller, tomato tying and watching the slicing tomatoes turn ever lighter shades of green. It is a watched pot but it is getting hotter! Still green tomatoes this week but don’t worry the red ones are coming soon, and we have Sungolds to ease the wait;)

In your box this week:

Blueberries
Russet Potatoes
Braising Mix
Haricot Verts (Frenchie Green Beans)
Thai Basil
Green Tomatoes
Onions
Sungold Tomatoes (try dehydrating these for a good snack/salad topper)

Here’s a cool recipe for Green Tomato Ketchup. It is given in large canning amounts, but you can divide the recipe by 3 to get 2 pints worth.
