What’s In The Box – August 28, 2009

August 28, 2009

Howdy folks~

All though it doesn’t feel like it’s cooling down Friday marks the beginning of the fall session of the CSA! The final pickup of the year falls on October 9 with our end of season party the following friday (10/16 – mark your calendars!). Fall crops and some spring re-runs are going to be working their way into the box over the next few weeks along with the summer stuff that remains in.
We hope everyone is keeping cool and dancing for some rain.

In your box this week:

  • Heirloom Tomatoes
  • Sungolds
  • Juliet Tomatoes
  • Cilantro
  • Basil
  • Bell Peppers
  • Fingerling Potatoes
  • Braising Mix
  • New Sweet Potatoes – these are freshly dug and have not been cured – they have a fine flavor as is but for sweet sweet potatoes put them in a paper bag for a week or so and they will cure, after that storage at slightly below room temperature will allow them to keep for some time.
  • Sunflowers
  • MicroMix Salad Spiker (beet greens, chard, mizuna, mustard & orach, edible marigold petals)
  • Jalapeno Peppers
Thanks everybody, see you soon.
