What Is Community Supported Agriculture?

Our farm utilizes the CSA marketing model, or Community Supported Agriculture. A CSA has a core group of members who subscribe to the farm for a season; in return they receive a weekly box of produce from the farm. CSA members commit to purchasing a “share” of the farm at the beginning of the season, which provides the farmer needed capital at a critical time. This system allows members to enjoy a dependable source of fresh, local produce and incorporate cooking into their weekly routine. It also allows the farmer to more accurately plan production and harvesting, resulting in less waste. For examples of what is included in each week’s share, see the details on previous seasons’ offerings here.
